Alternative High Schools

Alternative Education is  program within a K-12 public school district established to provide personalized educational services for students who may be at risk of dropping out or have already dropped out, risk of not graduating with their class, have behavioral issues, or have individual needs that aren't met in a traditional setting.  Alternative education offers personalized, flexible and self-paced education approaches to learning and earning high school credits.  They provide different options for students who might find traditional schooling challenging, allowing them to learn in ways that fit their strengths and needs. By encouraging self-directed learning and practical skills, alternative education prepares students for real-life problems and future careers.
